  • With an extensive service network and reputation for after-sales support as an established John Deere distributor, Rama Motori is a great addition to our global network of distributors. With this agreement, Cimco opens up and extends the availability of the OXE Diesel in the Mediterranean.
  • Next generation prototypes of OXE Diesel 300
  • Cimco Marine AB (publ.) are developing the new generation Diesel powered outboard, with six cylinders, twin turbo, 3-liter, diesel engine from BMW as a basis. Internally the project is known as the BISON project. The next generation prototypes are currently being built and are scheduled to hit the water in early July. Start of production is scheduled for spring 2020.

The OXE Diesel is the only outboard engine built particularly with commercial users in mind. It is designed for those who use their boat every day no matter the conditions, and have to rely on the units for many hours every year. The innovation fills a new segment in the marine industry and cannot be compared to anything on the market today. Efficiency, Endurance, Power and Control.

The block [OXE Diesel power head] is mounted horizontally, … rather than vertically like an outboard. Another thing it has in common with diesel inboards is a sealed fresh water cooling system with a separate heat exchanger that keeps the more corrosive salt water well away from the engine’s internals.

It also means there’s a separate raw water pump and strainer mounted high up on the front of the engine rather than buried inside the leg, so that you can clear any blockage or replace the impeller from on board without having to lift the boat.

These features may not sound as sexy as variable valve timing or a big capacity V8 outboard but for people who rely on their engines day after day, things like this matter.
